The opening dates for the ski lifts in the Portes du Soleil have just been announced for winter 2026–27. Here’s everything you need to know about when Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz open for the ski season. Not long to go now!
Avoriaz
Avoriaz will be the first resort in the Portes du Soleil to open. Lifts are scheduled to run from Friday 11 December 2026 until Sunday 18 April 2027. Depending on snow conditions, pre-opening weekends could take place as early as the end of November, so keep an eye out for updates as the season approaches.
Morzine and Les Gets
Pre-opening weekend for Morzine and Les Gets scheduled for Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th December with official continuous opening from Saturday 19th December 2026 until Sunday 4th April 2027.
Portes du Soleil
The wider Portes du Soleil ski area is scheduled to open from Saturday 19 December 2026 until Sunday 18 April 2027. As always, individual lifts and sectors can have different opening dates depending on snow conditions and operating requirements.

What Time Do the Lifts Open Each Day?
- Pléney Gondola: opens from around 08:30–08:45, depending on the time of year and school holidays.
- Super-Morzine Gondola: opens from 08:30.
- Prodains Express: opens for skiers from 08:45, providing direct access from Morzine to Avoriaz.
- Prodains Express for pedestrians: opens from 07:00, with extended evening hours depending on the day.
Lift closing times vary depending on the lift and time of season, generally finishing between 16:30 and 17:45 for skiers.
Lift opening and closing times can vary throughout the season and are subject to operating conditions, so check the latest timetable before heading out.
