IN THE VILLAGE

Whether you are visiting over the summer or winter there are a fabulous selection of different restaurants around Morzine village.

La Rotonde has one of the best steaks in town as well as traditional alpine plates like fondue and raclette. The large covered heated terrace is super cosy in winter and in summer they have an outdoor garden dining area for those warm nights. La Rotonde is a little more upmarket and a great option if you are looking for something a bit special.

L’Etale is one of our favourite and most visited restaurants. Always busy with a great vibe, and if you’re after traditional dishes this is the place to go. They have a large menu serving everything from local fish, to specialities like La Potence and fondue.  They also have a variety of veggie options, pizzas and most importantly great wine and drinks – including the best Irish coffees!

La Grange is a traditional, alpine restaurant in the centre of Morzine, located right next door to Chalet Coffy and La Grange. Warm and friendly, the menu is full of home cooked Savoyard specialities but also great steaks, salad and children’s options. We always find that the atmosphere at La Grange makes for a lovely evening. You can also order take-away from them to eat in the chalet if you don’t fancy the full restaurant experience.

Bec jaune

The Bec Jaune is only a short walk from all our properties. As a microbrewery bar you have a brilliant selection of different beers and ales each week. Bar snacks and mains all freshly prepared, so if you fancy a break from the cheese this is a perfect option. A very good choice for veggies, vegans and meat eaters alike. (The beer battered pickles are highly addictive!) It does get busy so booking in advance is a must.

O’Chalet does the best burgers in town, with friendly staff and a great atmosphere.  Every burger on the menu is available in a veggie alternative. You can’t book but they have lots of tables and the service is fast so you normally don’t have to wait.  Located in the middle of town it’s perfect for food before, during or after some après ski. Take-away or eat in. Summer and winter.

L’Improviste

L’Improviste opened last winter as a takeaway but now you can enjoy a really cosy yet contemporary bistro vibe. Handmade pizza and pastas, all delicious. (Our top pick is the Margherita, here the simplest is the best!). Take-away or eat in.

Gusto e Basta is a little gem hidden away next to the Mairie, right in the centre of town. These guys know how to make pizza! They use fresh authentic ingredients in their pizzas and pastas, which can be take-away or eat in.  They have a large deck out the front for summer dining and a perfect place to enjoy a cold Italian beer with your food. Take-away or eat in.

Satellite Coffee has the best freshly brewed coffee in all the whole town. The cafe is on Rue du Bourg in the centre of Morzine, and is the perfect start to any day, whether you want coffee and cake, breakfast or a snack lunch. There’s a cosy, friendly vibe inside and a decking area out front that catches the morning sun. They have a selection of freshly made cakes (with vegan and gf options), snacks (including sausage and vegan rolls) and breakfast and brunch options, from granola to packed pitas. (Jacks top pick – iced latte).

Also recommended – Hideout Hostel for great Asian food (booking essential!), La Chamade for a special occasion, La Flamme for a cosy vibe, Chez Martine for the best crepes (takeaway only) and Papa Renard for great burgers.
