Morzine is located in the heart of the French Alps at an altitude of 1000m. It is a charming ski resort that offers a fantastic mix of terrain for all skill levels. With its picturesque village atmosphere, vibrant restaurant and après-ski scene see our restaurant guide here, and diverse range of runs, Morzine is a must-visit for any ski and snowboard enthusiast.

Conveniently located within 1.5 hours of Geneva and part of one of the largest ski areas in the world, the Portes du Soleil, which consists of 14 ski resorts, providing skiers and snowboarders with almost 650km of ski runs – see the piste map here. Its snow record is excellent and it is close to the higher altitude snow-sure slopes of Avoriaz. You can also ski in Les Gets and Châtel, or ski over the border to Switzerland and ski in Champery and beyond.

Morzine village centre is easy to navigate on foot. Spreading from the ‘old town’ which begins outside the town hall and ancient church, the Rue du Bourg is Morzine’s main commercial street. Here you’ll find shops, bars and cafes as well as estate agents and the famous Bar Robinson. The Rue du Bourg extends into the newer, more commercial centre of Morzine with the Office de Tourisme at its heart. Several restaurants, more bars and ski shops surround the Office de Tourisme square, and this is also where you’ll find the ice rink. From here it’s easy to navigate your way to the Pleney lift station.
